E-mail (Dated: 12/22/14)

Wow it has been such a special week. It has been full of Heavenly Fathers help and guidance. Just yesterday we found a reference that we had been looking for for a couple of weeks now. His name is Alberto, and he had been taking lessons from the missionaries about a year and a half ago, but was never baptized. In our lesson with him, he brought up baptism and told us he wants to be baptized as soon as he can!! It was such a miracle for me and Hermana Mills!
I want to tell you all about our Christmas miracle we had this past Saturday night.  We had the baptism of Sarai (Investigator of Elders Gonzales and Tvetin). Me and Hermana Mills have been able to talk and sit with her at church because we are in the same ward. And for her baptism, we were able to help her change into her clothing and guide her into the font. As she got in, she couldnt stop saying how cold the water was haha. But as she took Elder Tvetins hand, everything went quiet and peaceful. He baptized her, and after she came up, it was like a heavenly quitness and peace came over us. She slowly walked back to the steps with Elder Tvetin, and once she got up the stairs to me and Hna Mills, I handed her a towel. She put it to her face and began to cry. She closed her eyes and almost fell back like she was going to faint, so me and Hna Mills put our arms around her to steady her. We sat there for a long time, taking in the most powerful spirit that I have ever felt. When she opened her eyes, she looked at Elder Tvetin and then at Me and Hna Mills and thanked every single one of us. She continued to cry and looked up towards the Heavens. We soon guided her back into the bathroom, and after she changed and came out, we asked her how she felt. She responded saying, "I dont know what you both saw in your own baptisms, but I saw God crying".
I have never had such a tender experience in my whole mission exprience. I felt so honored just to be the tiniest part her experience. I am so so grateful for the opportunity to share this incredible gospel. It really does change lives and give people a new start.
I love you all so so much! I hope you all have thee best Christmas (:

Holaa mis amores!

I feel like our area is really coming along! We have so many wonderful people that have such high potential. It always seems to be the last house or when we think we have given it our all when we find someone new to teach. This happened last night again- All our appointments had fallen, no one was answering the doors or anything. And as we were praying in our hearts to know what to do, I looked over and saw that a light was on in a house across the street. Just a couple weeks ago, we had contacted the woman that lived there (She was a reference from another investigator). But her schedule is always changing and she never has time. She rejected us at first but after we sang a hymn to her, the spirit touched her heart and she told us to come back. So we ran over to her house and she let us in! She had the cutest little family of three-her and her two kids. Prayer is part of their lives, but they had never prayed together. And so for the first time we were able to pray as a family with them. And they committed to start praying daily as a family (When the kids are with her and not staying with their dad). Something was just really special about them. I cant wait to see what happens with them!

Everything is going really good here in Palmas! Its such a special time of the year. And the people are really really good to us here. And my companion is great- We cant seem to stop laughing lately!
Well I love you all so so much (: Hope you are all having such a great time of the year!

Con muchoo amor,

Your Brookie Cookie <3

E-mail (Dated: 12/8/14)

Hola Hola Hola!

The work is going well in Palmas E! We are continuing to find some very special people, and we are searching hard to find our "pearl" for Christmas. We are trying so hard to prepare people for a baptism the week of Christmas! Its our District goal! So well see how it goes!

We found a very tender family- The mom is named Florencia about 73 years old and her son is named Angel and is 35. And they were actually references from an investigator! They soaked up the beautiful message we brought and Angel ended up saying the closing prayer. We are so excited to see how they are progressing. The problem is they live exactly under where a new big brige is being built and may have to move in a couple months... but we are praying all will work out (:

I dont know if you guys have seen it, but the Church came out with a Christmas video- He is the Gift- Its only about 2 minutes, but go watch it its so amazing. (navidad.mormon.org) This week we have been able to contact with cards that talk about it and it has been so special! Im pretty sure every mission has them all over the world! But I love talking to people about how Christ is the most precious gift our Heavenly Father has given us. I have thought so much about how our Heavenly Father has blessed us. Especially with Christmas coming up. Ive thought about how I will be away from home this Christmas, and its hard dont get me wrong. But I realized im not giving this time to my Heavenly Father. But rather this mission is a gift that Heavenly Father has given me. He is allowing me to learn and to grow, and helping me be able to return to live with him one day- And I want nothing more. It really is the best gift he could give me.

I love you all so so much! Thanks for all your support! Dont drink too much hot cocoa without me haha (;

E-mail (Dated: 12/1/2014)

Ahhh I still cant believe it is December! Time is crazy! I also hit my 10 month mark this week... woah. Also I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving isnt a Holiday here, so we didnt do anything too big haha but it was a good day (: I have so so much to be grateful for! I am so grateful to have you all in my life!

Things are going good in our new area! We are finding so many wonderful people! We found a family that was investigating the church about 2 years ago. Their names are Norma, Abram (18), and Karen (12). They were ready to be baptized and everything, but Norma had been living with her boyfriend. And because they all couldnt be baptized together, the kids were not baptized either. But good news- Norma is single now haha!! (: We are so excited to be working with them and to help them finally get baptized! It was so fun for the mom to return to church yesterday and catch up with all the members! Our ward was amazing with her. They all ran up to her and welcomed her back. I am so grateful our ward is so willing to help us in this incredible work. It really does make thee biggest difference.

This past week we went back to teach Elizabeth (19 year old who doesnt believe in God anymore) And she is so interesting in the Book of Mormon. She has had finals this whole week but has read almost all the introductory pages! Its so amazing to see how powerful the Book of Mormon is. And I am so grateful for it!! She still doesnt want to say kneeling prayers, but me and my comp know that one day shes just gonna say "so are we going to kneel or what?". She said that with us this past lesson but about the opening prayer. (: Made me smile!

We were also able to do a service project this week! There is the cutest old woman in our ward, and we helped her repaint some walls in her house (Mom its a good thing you taught me how haha)! We will be finishing it up this week! But there is nothing better than serving. I have learned so much about serving others here on my misison, and honestly I can say that nothing can turn your day around faster than forgetting about yourself and serving someone else!

I love and miss you all! Tengan una buena semana (:

E-mail (Dated: 11/24/14)

Hola mis amores!

It has been an incredible first week opening this area with Hermana Mills!
We have had so many miracles! There was one day where I remember having nooo idea what was going to happen. I was a little nervous, not gonna lie. And throughout the whole day, Heavenly Father guided us and put people in our path. We started out with our first appointment, which went well, and she ended up giving us a reference-her sister! As we went to contact her sister, we ended up finding a menos activo! It was so funny the first thing she said to us was "My husband isn't baptized!" Haha made me smile! And after we talked with them, they ended up giving us another 2 refs. And when we contacted these two refs (one named Lydia), Lydia gave us another 3 references!! It was incredible! And on our way to contact these other 3 references, we found a girl named Veronica. She told us that her parents didn't want her. But her eyes filled with hope and tears as we testified that she has a Heavenly Father who loves her immensely. It was such a special experience for me.

There is also a girl named Elizabeth that we found. She used to believe in God, but now she doesnt. But she said she would like to believe that someone is looking out for her in the heavens. At the end of the lesson, her little sister (8 years old) named Areli wanted to say the prayer and I got to kneel by her and help her say her first prayer. It was one of thee most tender moments for me. We invited Elizabeth to say her own prayer later on that night, and as we passed by later during the week, she told us she prayed!! She said "I said a prayer... but i didnt kneel. But i prayed". Aw it was so so incredible! We will be teaching her again tonight!

This past weekend there was also a huge stake activity where the youth got to be missionaries for 6 hours and come out with us!! My "baby" was Hermana Romero and she was 12 years old! And also a recent convert to the church of 7 Months... inspiration i know! But afterwards the kids got to get up in front of everyone and bear their testimonies. And this cute little girl got up and started crying. Saying it was one of the most special experiences shes ever had, as we sang "I need thee every hour" to an old woman on the side of the road. She also told me she wants to serve a mission. Aww melted my heart.

We also found a woman named Yadira. She is married and has 2 kids. During the lesson, I asked her what she was willing to do to have an eternal family. She replied saying anything. Later on in the lesson, I invited her to be baptized. The spirit was so strong and she answered saying "I will be baptized if it is what I need to do to have an eternal family".

I am so grateful for the love our Heavenly Father has for us. And I feel so honored to be sharing his wonderful plan for us. I'm so grateful I can share the wonderful news that families really can be together forever. I love this gospel, and i love sharing it.

Scripture of the week: 2 Nephi 5:27
"And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness".
Just want to share that this gospel really is happiness! And i know it is the ONLY way to true lasting happiniess (:

E-mail (Dated: 11/17/14)

Big news! So president told us we will probably won’t be going back to Chilpancingo at least until after Christmas... So we will still be living with these two other sisters, but we divided the area! And what happened is me and Hermana Mills will be in charge of places in their areas that these other two girls have never gone too. So me and Hermana Mills just opened a new area wahoo! We started Saturday! We literally are started from nothing... Like the old investigators in the folder don’t even have house numbers or anything. But we are so excited to "open" this new area! The first day that we went to our area, we saw so many tender mercies from our Heavenly Father. Strangers walked with us, showing where people lived and the streets we were looking for, and people we were searching for from the carpeta found us!! It was crazy! We were on this mouse chase looking for an old investigator named Katy, and after about an hour, she found US! She was like "who are you looking for? I'm Katy!" It was insane! This will be such an amazing opportunity!

Also earlier this week, before the change, Hermana Prieto and I had a special experience. We have an investigator named Lucy. And she text-ed us one morning asking us to borrow her money so she could feed her kids. We called the Relief Society President, and later that night, 3 women came with us to visit Lucy. They had collected a mini food supply for her. It was so so heart touching. As Lucy realized it was for her, she was SO grateful. It was so amazing to see how much the ward jumped up and helped us. And not only did they bring her a food supply, but they brought a Liahona, gave her hugs, smiles, and so much support. I know it meant so much to Lucy. I felt so privileged to be apart of this special experience. I know that these 3 women will be so so blessed.

I love you all so so much! I invite all of you to go get on your knees, ask the Lord how you can serve him today, and when he puts something into your mind, Do it! (: There is nothing better than serving!

Okay so funny story of the week: Don’t judge:
So last night, after singing at a baptism, me and Mills hopped on a bus to get back to our new area. Mills was contacting in the front of the bus, and I started talking to this lady towards the back of the bus. And after while the lady said ya you should probably be getting off soon (I had told her mas o menos where I was going). And as I stood up, I looked to where mills had been sitting.. and she was no longer sitting there. I started looking for her in all the other seats, and the woman she had talked too said "Your friend got off a while ago." And i was like  "WHAT!" and she was like "Ya she got off honey" And I said "Are you serious!?" And she said "Yes." And I ran to the front of the bus and yelled "STOP THE BUS!" -You guys should know that we were literally on the freeway haha. And it was completely dark outside.- So he stops the bus and I just start sprinting up toward the direction where my companion should be. Just imagine this please- im a white girl in Mexico, springing along side of the freeway, yelling Mills! And through the headlights I see Mills sprinting toward me! Best sight of my life. It was like the movies not kidding. We literally jumped into each others arms and couldn’t stop laughing! Hahaha and the first thing she says is I literally peed my pants! Hahahahha! Poor thing, she said she got off the bus, realized I wasn’t with her and when she looked back toward the bus she saw this little blond head pop up. Hahahaha.

Well hope you guys have a great week! (: LES AMO!!

E-mail (Dated: 11/10/2014)

Hola Hola! Things are great here in Palmas (Cuernavaca)! We had a huge blessing of 8 investigators come to church yesterday! Its amazing to see the Spirit work in them and to see their progression.
Me and Hermana Mills had an experience yesterday that i want to share with you. It was about 7 at night and we were looking for a woman named Lucy. I had only seen her house one time and it was in the dark, so I didn't know exactly where it was. And as I was telling my companion I wasn't sure where it was, sure enough Lucy popped out of her door and said "Hermanas can you come visit me?" She isn't doing too well, she has no support from anyone-both her brother and dad died, and has been looking for a job for a very long time. And yesterday she hadn't eaten anything because she had no money. I cried with her as she expressed her hurt. She told us she felt like Heavenly Father doesn't answer her prayers (She has been praying for a long time to find a job). But she also told us she had been praying right before we got to her house for us to come, cause she loves the feeling we bring into her home. We helped her realize that this was an answer to her prayer.. that Heavenly Father was and is aware of her situation. My companion later on promised her that if she said only prayers of gratitude every day this week, that she would find a job. And she happily agreed to the challenge.
Im so grateful for every thing my Father in Heaven has given me. As I look all around me, I cant believe how blessed I am. And I realized I need to give prayers of more gratitude to my Heavenly Father.

For the scripture of the week I want to share Doctrine and Covenants 122: 5-8:

"If thou art called to pass through tribulation; if thou art in perils among false brethren; if thou art in perils among robbers; if thou art in perils by land or by sea;

 6 If thou art accused with all manner of false accusations; if thine enemies fall upon thee; if they tear thee from the society of thy father and mother and brethren and sisters; and if with a drawn sword thine enemies tear thee from the bosom of thy wife, and of thine offspring, and thine elder son, although but six years of age,shall cling to thy garments, and shall say, My father, my father,why can’t you stay with us? O, my father, what are the men going to do with you? and if then he shall be thrust from thee by the sword, and thou be dragged to prison, and thine enemies prowl around thee like wolves for the blood of the lamb;

7 And if thou shouldest be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all,if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

8 The Son of Man hath descended below them all."

I think this scripture is very clear- No matter what trial is placed in front of us, it will be for our good. Our Heavenly Father only gives us trials because he loves us. He wants us to grow and to be able to return to live with him. And every pain and heartache that we have, our brother and Savior has felt it all. He is the only one who fully understands. Let us turn to him in every moment. I know his arms are wide open to catch us when we fall. I hope and pray that we never forget that we are never ever alone.

I love you all so so very much! Have such a great week (:

Hola mis amores!! Wow can you believe I only have 9 months left today!? Time is crazy! Im so grateful for all this time that my Heavenly Father has given me to work here in Mexico. Honestly this has been the most amazing and needed time in my life. I will forever be grateful for each day Heavenly Father gives me to serve him.
Things are great here in Cuernavaca! I have loved this time with all these sisters! We actually just got a call from our Zone leader though, and he told us that Hermana Sturt and Castenada are going to leave... they will be headed to Cuautla. :( I may or may have not started crying. Its been such an amazing 2 weeks to be with my best friend from my mission and now shes leaving. :( But I know its from Heavenly Father so I just have to try to accept it with a good attitute! Im trying to work on giving Heavenly Father my whole will. :) I know that as I do, I will see more and more miralces. And hey I got to spend 2 weeks more with her than I should of had, what a blessing (:
So this week we were actually able to work out until 9 again!! We were so excited! It was such a huge blessing. We actually found an amazing family in the last moments of the day!
We have an investigator named Rosy, and we had such a tender experience with her this last week. As we started a second fast with her, she promised the Lord to fast every first Sunday of the month for the rest of her life. The spirit flooded the room as she put all her faith and trust in the Lord and made him that promise. I really do know that fasting has true power behind it. I know that as we show Heavenly Father our faith, he will answer us and we will see miracles. I invite all of you to go to the Lord in fasting, with a specific question. And I promise you as a missionary for our Savior Jesus Christ that he will answer it.
I am so grateful for this gospel. I love it so much. I know that it is the only way to happiness. Nothing of this world is worth our Eternal bliss.

PS fun fact of the week: Halloween has actually been going on for 3 days now.. haha Mexicans love to party here! But its alot different! Not very many people dress up! They mostly put out offerings for their dead loved ones!
I love you all so so much! Have such an amazing week! You are all in my prayers (: Oh and Ill send pictures next week I cant on this computer!
Con todo el amor del mundo,

E-mail (Dated: 10/27/2014)

Hey hey hey! Okay so to start off... I'm 20 years old. whoa. But I had such an amazing birthday!! These girls I am with took such amazing care of me!! My day started off amazing- ha sturt tackled me in my bed! And at church we had 5 investigators!! And after church I had a special experience with a less active. As we got to know her, the question "Is there a specific reason why you stopped coming to church?" would not leave my mind. I was so nervous to ask it... But I finally got the courage to ask her. She immediately filled with tears. She told me that in all these years, not one person or missionary had ever asked her that and that that was the key question. She told us that the problem was with some members. But it was such a learning experience to me to always listen to the spirit. I know that it is only with the help of the spirit that we can really find peoples concerns or problems.
When we went back to the house to study after the less active, I walked into our house and immediately had confetti and all the girls singing happy birthday to me! It was so stinking cute!! They bought me a cake and everything! And i had absolutely NO idea!! They planned everything while i was in the shower each night haha! But im so blessed to be able to spend this time with these angels! I love them!
Also yesterday we did the impossible- I ate a Habanero!! YES a chile habanero!! Its been my goal for sooo long!! Oh my heavens Its literally like putting a match to your mouth! or as the scriptures would say, the gates of hell opened up. Trust me when I say literally your insides burn! I only swallowed the first little bit and I was dyin after! Ill all show you the video when I get home (:
Its been a great week! We are really able to strengthen the investigators and members here in Palmas as we work with 6 girls! We have been able to see many many miracles!!
Scripture of the week:
Mosiah 4: 27 "For it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he hath strength".

I love you all so so much! Thanks for all the birthday wishes!! LES AMO!!!

E-mail (Dated: 10/20/2014)

Ohhh hey my dear family and friends! (:

Wow.. so much has happened! Okay so I am back in Cuernavaca! Aw i love this place it definately has my heart! I am not going to be staying here permanately though, its only temporary- like 2 weeks. I am working in an area called Palmas C! And were like 10 minutes from the Presidents house haha. Well to start off, some cities in Guerrero are not too safe right now. There have been lots of marches and protests going on. So we werent able to leave our house off and on for about 2 and a half weeks. And on Wednesday we got a call from the Asistants telling us to pack up and to be in the bus station in 45 minutes. So I literally threw my things in a suitcase and well now im here with 6 other sisters in Cuernavaca! Wahoo! And yes I am here with Hermana Sturt (: I think it was a early Birthday present from my Heavenly Father (: (Ps wierd that ill be 20 the next time I talk to yall?) I am also with my new companion- Hermana Mills! She is from Nevada and has 10 months on the mish! And shes 22 years old! She is hilarious and we will definately be having a good time together! I am also with Hermanas Prieto, Castenada and Sesena! Its a good time! Im learning so much from them! But not gonna lie, i am anxious to get back to my area in Chilpanchingo. I miss my investigators and ward! And Im excited to work there with Hermana Mills!

Okay so scripture of the day: Helaman 3: 29-30
"Yea, we see that whosoever will may lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and narrow couse across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked--

And land their souls, yea, their immortal souls, at the right hand of God in the Kingdom of Heaven... to go no more out."

I really do know that this gospel- the word of God- is the ONLY way that we can be lead back to our Heavenly Father. I know that if we are founded upon the Rock of Christ, he really will guide us safely back to our home. We will have the power to overcome whatever challenge or trial is placed in our path. But i know that we really have to cleave upon his word. We have to trust him and grasp to our Saviors hand- We cant just grasp him with 2 fingers, or we will fall. I am so grateful I know the way. I am so grateful I have been blessed with the gospel. I love it wil all my heart. I love my Savior. He is guiding us. And I will do everything I can to help others know it.
I love you all so much and I hope you all have a fantastic week! And please dont worry! We are all safe, President is just taking precautions. All is good (:

LES AMO!
Con mucho mucho amor,

E-mail (Dated: 10/13/2014)

Hola mis amores! (:

To start off Edwin Recardo Cruz was BAPTIZED!!! Aww his baptism was so beautiful. His mom was able to support him, and came to his baptism! And we actually found out that she was baptized 20 years ago!! Well be reactivating her now haha (: But Edwin was so nervous bless his heart! But what was so amazing was that he is so dedicated to follow Christ. He was so ready to start his new life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. He has been such an incredible example to his family and friends. I look up to him.

Oh P.S., in the baptism program, the mission leader called me up on the spot to share a story or experience from my mission... And I about died haha. I had absolutely NO idea what to share. My mind was racing trying to think of a story, but I didn't have time to think of anything (I was in the front row haha) And I literally just had to open my mouth and have faith that Heavenly Father would fill it. And the most amazing thing happened... Heavenly Father used me to talk to the people present at the baptism. I started talking about things I would have never thought! Heavenly Father guided my words as I spake. I don't even remember exactly what I said, but it was such a testimony builder to me. The promise that he will fill our mouths is so true. And I bare testimony of it!

We also found such an amazing family this week-Maria, Ursulo and Leondra. Maria and Ursulo are 70 and 80 and Leondra is 40. She is handicap and always smiling (: We were able to teach them with a member and it was such a beautiful experience. At the end of the lesson, the husband told us that this was the first time he has ever sat down and listened to ANY missionaries. This family has had missionaries from our church and other churches teach them, but this was the first time he listened!! Ahh the spirit was tangible. Please keep them in your prayers that they will continue to keep their hearts open!

I had so many tender mercies from the Lord this week. But they are for another time (: But I bare testimony that he really is by our side. He lifted and picked me up when I fell, and comforted me when I needed it. I know that he always behind us to catch us when we fall. Dont be afraid to ask for his help.

Well family, we didn't have changes today, they got moved to Wednesday! But I think I will be staying here in Chilpancingo (: Sadly, I think our trio will be coming to an end. But I'm excited for new opportunities that lay ahead (:

I love you all so very much. Thanks for all your support!
Con mucho amor,
Your Brookie Cookie
PS Shout out to my girl Raig Babe. Love you!! SO glad your surgery went well (:

Email (Dated: 10/6/2014)

Hiiii family!!! Wow it feels like forever since i was able to write you! And SO much has happened!! First off I have been in a trio for 2 and a half weeks! My other companion is Hermana Iles!! She is from Columbia and thee funniest person ever! Shes also a convert to the church and has such a strong testimony! I have already learned SO much from her! But transfers are next week so well probably only have a week left as a trio.
Things are all good! We are working with the members more little by little. Our bishop is trying so hard to animate the ward- Its something weve been struggling with. Were in charge of 2 areas right now... Ours (Galeana) and the area Obrera. We should be having a baptism soon for the area Obrera! (: His name is Edwin. Ill keep you updated!

We havent been able to leave the house much this week, but we had a huge miracle i want to share with you! Earlier this week,we told our District Leader that we were going to give out 50 "tickets" or invitations to Conference this weekend. And he promised us that if we gave 100 tickets, we would see huge miracles!! The spirit was so strong as he gave us this promise that all of us had tears in our eyes. But we werent alble to leave our houseuntil Friday. When we had permission to leave, we gave the tickets out to literally EVERYONE we saw. On combies, in the street, to members to invite thier friends, everything possible! And as we returned to the house, we realized we have 2 tickets left... And then something even more amazing happened- We realized we had printed out 102 tickets. We had given out EXACTLY 100 invitations to the conference in ONE day.. something we had planned to achieve throughout the entire week! We were so touched and amazed by how present the help of the Lord was!! I know without a doubt that that was a Miracle. We had divine help. There is no other possible way!

I also wanted to share 2 scriptures with you! The first is in 2 Nephi 22:2 "Behold, God is my Salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength & my song; he also has become my Salvation."
I want all of you to know that I know Christ is our Savior. He really has become my strength and my song. I know with all of my heart that he is our Salvation. I cant express enough of my gratitude for him. I know without him I am nothing. I know he always has his arms stretched out to us. I know he loves us with a love that we cant even comprehend-for his love is inifite! How blessed are we to have such an amazing person looking after us.
The second scripture is Alma 37: 44 "Give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal BLISS."
How blessed were we to have been able to listen to LIVING Apostles and a Prophet this weekened! My testimony of these men shot through the roof as I realized how blessed we really are. I had promised so many people in the street that if they came and listened to him, they would know that he is a man of God. And my promise came right back to me- As I listened to our Prophet Thomas S. Monson, the spirit pierced my heart like never before! I know without a doubt that this is the church of God. These men receive direct revelation for US. They're words are from God! I am so grateful for all of their warning words. I encourage all of you to act on the words they offered us- Listen and apply their words and I promise you we will happier than ever before. We will have bliss.

I love all of you so very much! Take care! MWAH!
Con todo el amor del mundo,

E-mail (Dated: 9/22/14)

Hola mis amores!

Its been amazing to see the miracles and tender mercies since we have started the Purification Project! I want to tell you about an investigator we have! Her name is Marcelina. She is around 55 years old and has a TON of family. We actually havent been able to teach her the last two weeks cause she has been so busy, but we were able to visit her over the weekend. Our lesson with her was so amazing. She told us of how she wants to be baptized in about 2 months and that she is going to be dedicated to learning more so she can ´defend her church´. We also met her daughter in law- Johan- And she told us that she was about to be baptized in the past, but she got sick and then got married. She wouldn't commit to a new baptismal date cause she wanted to talk to her husband first, but there was so much light in her eyes! And Saturday we passed by with some leaders in ward council to invite them to our ward Family Home Evening and Joann knew the Second Counselor!! He was her teacher in High School! Such a huge blessing!! Joann couldn't make it to the Family Home Evening, but Marcelina went and she fit into the ward so incredibly well.

We are working with our ward so much more and it has made all the difference. We feel like they are trusting us with assignments and references and its been so amazing! We have been able to serve them so much more!

So funny story of the week- Tuesday we were able to attend a Night of Mexico with our ward and the one next to us! And Me and my comp, 2 other sisters and our zone leaders sang ¨Ceilito Lindo¨for everyone! Its a super famous Mexican song! My comp told me I had to do it cause never again in my life would I sing as a missionary in front of Mexicans and sing their beloved song... so you know I had to take it haha! But ya I may or may not have blushed the entire time... I was dying! But I have it on film so ill show you all one day (;
Scripture of the week: D&C 58: 3-4

¨Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.
For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand.¨

Love you all so much! Have such an incredible week! LES AMO!!!

E-mail (Dated: 9/15/2014)

Hey my beautiful family and friends!!
So today is the 15 of September! Its like the 4th of July for Mexico! And its crazy! These people love to party... Haha its fun to see their culture! My companions birthday is tomorrow and the bishops family invited us over to have a water balloon fight! Aww its was so much fun! They seriously feel like family and im so grateful for them! It helps a lot when your far away from home to have a famiy that takes such great care of you!
But this week was great! Im feeling so much better and we jumped right back into the work! (: We had a really amazing experience this week with the husband of the family Calderon (Daughter is America with Downs). His wife was sick in the hospital and shes about 5 months pregnant. And one night we stopped by to see how they were doing and were able to sing "I need thee every hour". The spirit filled the room and it was almost tangable. The nanny even started singing with us. It was so special! I think it was a turning point for him- he didnt participate in our lessons very much before but now he does! Its incredible!
We also found a woman named Ereberta. She has been so many times to church but has never been baptized!! We put a baptize goal for her for the end of this month! It was such a tender mercie for us! And I pray everything will work out! With the help of our God, nothing is impossible (:
Also yesterday, it literally rained buckets... we were in the house of a member and it was raining so hard we couldnt hear each other speak... It was nuts! As I looked farther up the mountain, my heart broke and I broke into tears as I realized the houses above could get ruined (There made of wood). I told my companion I wanted to run to their help, but she told me there was nothing we could do. All we could do was put out buckets under the roof to catch water so it wouldnt go down to flood the houses below. Luckily the rain stoped and it hasnt rained today! Everyone was so scared because this exact day last year, it rained for 3 days with the same intensity and ruined so many houses. I know so many prayers were answered and that Heavenly Father was watching over the people here.
We also started a "purification process" as a zone yesterday! For 40 days, we are going to work on purifying our hearts and to be better missionaries. We will give up all the things that arnt in harmony with what our Heavenly Father wants and strive even harder to become better missionaries. I am super excited! Its gonna be hard, but I know this will help me to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost even stronger! Im grateful for this oportunity! And its been amazing, both me and my companion have felt that already, our lessons are more in harmony and the Spirit has been stronger in our lessons!
I love all of you so so much and Im so grateful to call you my family and friends!! Thanks for all the support once again. You are all in my prayers! LES AMO!!
Con mucho mucho mucho amor,

Wow I dont even know where to start this week.. So this week has been rough. It started Thursday morning when my comp woke up and told me her scalp itched.. yup she had lice. And it had been itching since SUNDAY.. and she told me THURSDAY. Ya I combed lice out of her hair for 3 hours that morning. Not my cup of tea... Heavenly Father has been answering my prayers and so far I dont have lice. Pray for me!
My health hasnt been too good this week, but it will all be good (: Just keep me in your prayers please.
We have been teaching so many incredible families this week! The first one is la familia Calvo. They have two kids and they were so receptive to the first lesson! They accpeted a baptism date and I cant wait to see what happens with them! (: It was incredible to look back at the lesson and see how much Heavenly Father helped me talk in Spanish! Its incredible! SO grateful for the help of our Heavenly Father and Savior.
We also had an amazing lesson with a mom and daughter- Rosy and Rosita- When we started the lesson, the mom had a super bad headache and at the end, she told us it was gone! She cried as she told us how hard her family life is (Her husband drinks and I think he abuses her) and I was able to promise her that this gospel would change and improve her life and the life of her family. She also told us she could feel all the fruits of the spirit- love, peace, happiness, etc. The only thing is she is having a hard time leaving the catholic church cause its all shes known. But i know as she learns more about our message, she will want to come to our church every sunday! (:
We havent seen the family of America (Sweetheart who has downs) Because the mom has been sick (Shes prego) But ill update you next week (:
Oh and Im staying here in Chilpanchingo with my same comp. this transter! And I also hit 7 months on my mission this week.. where did time go?!

Okayy Scrip of the week: Heleman 5:12
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon therock of our Redeemer, who isChrist, the Son of God, that yemust build your foundation;that when the devil shall sendforth his mighty winds, yea, hisshafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mightystorm shall beat upon you, itshall have no power over youto drag you down to the gulf ofmisery and endless wo,because of the rock uponwhich ye are built, which is asure foundation, foundationwhereon if men build theycannot fall."I have especially felt the truth of this scripture this week as I have fought my battles. I know that when Christ is our priority, everything else will fall into place. I know that we will be able to withstand all the firey darts and storms of the advesary. We will be strong enough to fight through ALL our battles, no matter how hard they may be, BECAUSE we have Christ on our side. I am so grateful for my Savior. I know he is always with us and I feel SO priveliged to wear his name.

Well I love you all! Have such a great week! And Happy labor day!! LES AMO!!

E-mail (Dated: 8/25/2014)

Hi!!!

So to start off, shout out to my home girl ROSE!! She leaves this week for her MISSION!! Rose i love you!!! So proud and excited for you!!!

So this week we had a huge multizone conference. And the zone from Iguala came (its an hour and a half bus ride) so they got to stay the night here with our zone. And guess who got to stay with me in my house.... Hermana STURT!!!!! (My best friend from the MTC) I about died when I saw her!! What a HUGE tender mercie for me to be able to see her and have her stay the night with me!! Ahh I missed her so much! Heavenly Father reminded me that he is watching over me. The conference was so amazing. The spirit always teaches me SO much. And Im always so grateful for the opportunity to learn and to hear from all my leaders!

One thing i am working on this week is the Christlike attribute- Charity and Love- I am going to pray every day with the energy of my heart to be able to be blessed with this gift. I want to be able to feel the pure love that Christ has for EVERY single person I come in contact with. I know this will help and bless me in so many ways!!

The family Calderon (Daughter is America who has Downs) is so special. We watched the 20 min. video of the Restuaration with them and the spirit was so sweet. The mom is such a believer and has so much faith! They are continuing to soak up all the lessons! I feel so blessed to be able to be a part of their conversion.

So one thing that our area is struggling with is church attendence. We pass by for multiple investigators before church and something ALWAYS comes up. Satan does ALL he can to put something in the way of church! And most the time he puts something good in the way... but church is the best thing!!
I am enjoying the work here in Chilpo! There are some really great people here! The weather is great- It has been raining like every day!! We hike through the mud (: My comp is good... were struggling a little bit but its all good! SO much miscommunication with the language... My Spanish is continually improving.. little by little! It will come eventually! Heavenly Father is teaching me a lot of patience haha (: But everything is great! I have faith that some miracles are around the corner for us! Changes arenext monday but I will most likely stay here with Hermana Canaan!

Okay Scripture of the week:
Hermana Kusch (Presidents wife) shared this scripture with us at the confrence- Its in Mormon 5:23 "Know ye not that ye are in the hands of the Lord? Know ye not that he hath all power?" It was such a great reminder for me that Heavenly Father is right by our side and wants the best for us. All of us truely are in his hands!

I love you all so much! Have such a great week!

LES AMO!!!

Fun Fact of the week: We got serenated by drunks last night hahaha. And the guy was actually really good at the guitar!!

E-mail (Dated: 8/18/2014)

I am loving Chilpancingo! The people here are so amazing! Hermana Canaan is such a sweetheart too! Haha she doesnt speak ANY english.. and not gonna lie I dont know what shes saying like 30 percent of the time haha! I am so excited to work here though! Its amazing to see the Lords hand in my life. He is so willing to help us-especially when we ask. My testimony on the power of prayer has grown so much here on the mission. Im so grateful for all the lessons im able to learn here in this special time. I will be eternally grateful for my mission!!

So this week was full of crazy stories! First off, when I took my first shower, the whole nob flew off and starting spraying water at me! Aparently the shower is broken and my comp didnt tell me! Sooo I get to shower in a bucket again (: We also ate the same meal this week, literally for 3 days in a row! Taquitos for daysss! And one day when we were eating with a member, lightning landed 5 houses away from us! Ive never experienced anything like it-it was crazy! Everything shook and it was so bright and loud! And craziest story happened last night..  we were late to an appointment, so my comp said lets try to take a shortcut! So we crossed a tiny bridge and started hiking up this tiny pathway (pretty much in the forest) And all the sudden a tiny little dog starts barking at me ( I was first) and almost bites us! So we turned around but by this time, other dogs had come to see what was going on. Above us (up the hill) were 2 big dogs, and on the other side of us were probably the scariest dogs ive ever seen in my life. Their teeth were huge. They were pretty much wolves and yes I felt like Bell in the forest! We were completly surrounded by dogs. I completely just anticipated the bites and to be tackled to the ground to be eaten. My comp screamed and I looked up to the Heavens and said "Heavenly Father please help us"  And exactely right after I said those words, A little boy came from the top of the hill and scared the dogs away with his little lighter (Dont know how it worked but it did!) He was literally our saving angel! We ran up the rest of the hill, and he said "Are you bitten?" And we said No were okay! And he said "Those dogs ALWAYS bite whoever comes up that path..." It was a pure miracle that we got out safe! I know there were angels protecting us. There is no other way we would have made it out safely!

But back to the important stuff- We found a very special family this week! They have a daughter named America that has downs, and every member of the family is so so tender. They all accepted baptismal dates (Mom, Dad, and the Nanny), and are so receptive to the lessons! They just soak up every word! The mom is pregnant again too! This gospel is going to change their lives! I cant wait for the day when they can be sealed as a family!

Also an entire family came with us one day for an hour and a half to give us references! It was incredible! Its so so amazing to have the help of the members. Missionary work really is for EVERY member! We are all in this together! I want to challenge you guys to help someone come closer to Christ. Pray and ask Heavenly Father who you can help and what you can do to help this person and I promise he will answer you. He WILL put someone in your mind! Everyone can come closer to Christ. And I promise as you do this, you will find so much more joy and will be SO blessed!

My scripture of the week is D & C 112:13
"And after their temptations and much tribulation, behold, I, the Lord, will feel after them, and if they harden not thir hearts, and stiffen not their necks against me, they shall be converted, and I will heal them. "

Hey my loved ones! Wow so much has happened in the last couple days...

First off I LEFT YAUTEPEC, Cuautla. I am now in CHILPANCHINGO, GUERRERO!!! I left the state of Moreles (So im now closer to the ocean if that helps you guys haha)! We had emergency transfers because of an incident that happened to me. But no worries ALL IS GOOD! I am fine and healthy! A little shaken up, but its all good (: I know I have angels protecting me. My new companion is Hermana Canaan! She is from Puebla Mexico! She has 4 months in the mission and she is so fun! She only has 3 weeks in this area, so we will be doing a lot of exploring! How fun right!? Were excited!

But back in Yautepec we had such a beautiful week! We found such an amazing woman named MariaLouisa (mom of a contact in the street). She accepted a baptism date and she told us that she knew that what we were teaching was true! She told us that she didnt let other preachers in her house before! The spirit guided the lesson so beautifully! I was also able to talk more spanish! It was incredible. I know she will be baptized soon by the other Missionaries!

We also had such a beautiful baptism!! His name is Arturo and his parents were just baptized about 4 weeks ago! His dad was actually able to baptize him too!! He received the Aaronic Priesthood this past week! Ahh soo soo tender! I've never seen anyone so happy! He literally just glowed and had the biggest smile on his face when he walked out of the waters of his baptism. It was so tender to see how happy his whole family was. They all have the goal of the temple in mind and look forward to being sealed in one year from now!!! I was so grateful to be apart of that beautiful moment.

I was also able to see some of my old investigators from Chapultepec yesterday!! They surprised me came to my ward! Ahh it was so amazing to see them!! I love the people of Chapultepec! And it was incredible to see their progress in the Church. You can literally see a difference in them! I am so grateful for this gospel and for this opportunity to share this happiness with others!

I am so excited to start working here in Chilpanchingo! I am always grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow. I love you all! Hope you are all doing well!!

Con MUCHO amor,
Brookie Cookie (:
Ps my new comp is the one with the orange skirt in this pic! (:

Can you believe that I will see you all in one year from yesterday!!? And tomorrow is my official 6 months on the mission! How crazy is time?!

Well this has been a week full of ups and downs. One of our investigators Farriol (73 yrs old), decided he didn't want to be baptized and to stop taking our lessons. His baptism was for next weekend :( It was devastating. We found out he has an problem with cigarettes, and we had to push his baptismal date back. When we told him this, it was like a different person came out in him. I've never seen Satan get a hold of someone so fast. In one second the lesson was going great, and the next he was giving his pamphlets and the Book of Mormon back to us and then grabbed a cigarette to smoke in front of us. We were devastated. We had a less active member with us who is very good friends with Farriol, and we all just started crying. I don't know how to explain how it was... I felt so devastated that he was turning away from his Savior. It broke my heart.

But on the bright side, yesterday we had such an amazing experience! We had a first lesson with a woman named Anabel. And I can honestly say I've never been in a more powerful first lesson in my entire lesson. The spirit was SO strong! And it was so so incredible! Hermana Carmona shared a scripture about the Holy Ghost- in Galatians 5:22-23 (Talks about the fruits of the Spirit) And after I asked Anabel if she could feel any of those fruits right now. And she started crying and said ¨Yes! I can feel ALL of them!¨Ah it was so so incredible. I am so grateful for the companionship of the Holy Ghost. Because without it, I would be useless here. I know it is ONLY through the Holy Ghost that these people can know and feel the truth of this beautiful message!

Our area is slowly growing. We are trying our best. Hermana Carmona is incredible and teaching me SO much! I feel so blessed to be her companion and to be able to learn from her! My Spanish is still really rough. I'm actually still really frustrated with it. But having a Latin companion is helping me so much!
I love you all so so much! Miss and pray for all of you everyday! Have such an incredible week!
Con mucho amor, Brookie Cookie

PS: I am not aloud to chat back and forth one I get on to talk to you guys :( I can send one email to each of you personally but after that I have to wait till the next week to reply again. Hard I know, but its from the Lord, so it must be for our good. Oh and I can't figure out how to send pics on this computer this week sorry! LOVE YOU!

E-mail (Dated: 7/29/2014)

Hey my loved ones!

Not gonna lie, this was definitely one of the harder weeks in my mission. I don't know how, but literally EVERY set appointment we had, fell. This went on for FIVE DAYS! I have never had anything like this happen in my entire mission. Even some of the food appointments fell! I couldn't believe it! I still am not exactly sure what Heavenly Father was teaching us, but maybe it was to have more faith? We begged and pleaded for him to place his children in our path. We wanted to be useful tools in his hands. And finally, after some long hard days, he placed miracles in our path. It was like a huge wave of his love. He showed us that he is listening, but everything is according to HIS timing.

I want to tell you one of the miracles we saw Sunday morning at church. Fernando and Claudia just got baptized last week and they have a son named Arturo who is 13 and he didn't want to be baptized. But Sunday at church, they whispered over to us and said that when he woke up, he told them "I want to be baptized!" They just lit up when they told us! I was SO happy for them! His baptism should be here in just a couple weeks! They have a goal to go to the temple and be sealed as a family in one year! I know that it was the help of Angels and the Holy Ghost that prepared his heart. And I couldn't be more happy for Arturo!
We have the ball rolling again, and our area is doing better. We were able to put 3 people with a baptismal date just over Saturday and Sunday. I have high hopes for what is to come. The members welcomed me very warmly on Sunday and I am excited to strengthen this area!

Hermana Carmona is the sweetest thing ever! She has such a strong testimony and she is a great teacher. I have so much to learn from her! She also speaks a lot more English than I thought! She wants to be fluent so she told me that she just wants to speak English in the house, so of course I accepted (: My Spanish is improving, but it is still so rough. I feel like I should be fluent by now and well, I'm not. Its super frustrating. I just feel really behind on the Spanish part. Oh and we also got sick Thursday :( She had a super high fever and some stomach problems, and I have had the nastiest cold. It got to my ears... Lets just say it wasn't pretty. But we are both healthy and perfectly fine now so no worries!

Yautepec is probably the hottest place ever. The sun is crazy strong.. didn't know haha got a pretty sweet burn, Ill send a pic!

So my scripture for the week is D&C 121: 7-8 "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine affictions shall be but a small moment. And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes." This week I was hit hard with the realization that all of our trials really are for but a small moment. Our life here on this earth is SO short. And before we know it, our test here is gonna be over. If we can see the bigger picture during these times of heartache and hardship, we will be able to face them with more strength. I know that the trials that are placed in our path are for OUR benefit. They will strengthen us and help us grow in ways we never thought possible. And for that, I can thank my Heavenly Father for loving us enough to help us grow. He loves us with such an infinite love and he only wants us to reach our potential. He wants us to be able to return to live with him in eternal bliss.
I love you all so so much! Hope you have a fantastic week (: LES AMO!!!

Con mucho amor,
Your Brookie Cookie (:
Ps the pics- Fernelius and Neuberger are in my ZONE!!! SO happy!! The second pic is just a tiny street, its SO green here!! oh and Yautepec is like 12 times bigger than Chapultepec... yup its different!

E-mail (Dated: 7/21/2014)

okay first off- I GOT TRANSFERRED!!!! I am now in a little pueblo called Yautepec. My new companion is Hermana Carmona. Yes she is Latino and doesn't speak English. But she knows more English than I expected! Its hard, but Its gonna force me to learn Spanish haha. I'm excited to work here in Yautepec... There is a lot of work to do. Not gonna lie, it was super hard to leave all those people I had grown to love. I absolutely loved Chapultepec. The people there are very dear to my heart and I will never forget them. I am so grateful for the time I was able to have there. I have grown SO much here on my mission, and learned SO much! And I am excited to learn even more! Hermana Carmona is so sweet and I know she has so much to offer. I will learn so much from her! She actually reminds me of Alexandra (Rose Caldwell (: ) Yautepec is super super hot... super flat.. well its what you would expect Mexico to be like haha. Its very rural...Super different from my last beautiful area. Haha mom it reminds me of Manti! You prepared me well ;) Ahh I don't like change, but I know this is where the Lord needs me. There must be a reason im here!

So back in Chapultepec, on Saturday Hermana Young and I were able to have a baptism! Her name is Maria and she is so so great! I have never seen anyone so excited for their baptism. She was so excited to follow the example of Christ and to take the name of Christ upon her. It was so amazing to see her progress and desire to learn more. Her baptism was beautiful. The spirit was so strong and sweet.

We also had a very tender experience yesterday. We were walking to church and a taxista stopped us and tried to talk to us in English. He asked us where we were going. We told him we had no money but he said it wasn't important and to hop in free of charge. He told us in the car that he had lived in California some years ago and someone had given him a Book of Mormon. After the ride he ran to his trunk and pulled out his blue Book of Mormon, still in perfect condition. We were able to explain it more to him, and passed his directions to the other missionaries in Porvenir. It was so tender to see how the Lord guides his children to us, or guides us as missionaries to his other children. I am so grateful to be able to wear the name of Christ on my shoulder.

I love you all and you are always in my prayers! Have such a great week (: Les amo!

Con mucho amor,
Your brookie cookie (:

E-mail (Dated: 7/14/2014)

Hey hey hey! (:

Okay first off I have to give a shout out to my sweetheart Elder Harmon!! HE OFFICIALLY HAS ONE YEAR LEFT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am I a little excited? Yup (: I love you Blake!!!

Okay so our area is growing so much! We had more menos activos show up to church yesterday than ever before! It was a huge miracle for us to see! Our ward is growing SO much! And I was shocked to see how amazing the members were with the menos activos! They completely made them feel welcome again! It was such a huge blessing. Mission work really is for EVERY member. And we need every members help! I didn't realize how important the work of the members was until I got here on my mission. And I am so grateful Heavenly Father has helped me learn that missionary work is not just for someone who has a nametag.

We also had another tender mercy with the Young Women President. She called us and asked us if we could talk to the Young Women and invite them to accompany us! So we happily accepted and when we got there, the girls were SO excited to come with us! They each wanted not only to come with us once, but multiple days! And so far in the lessons, they have been amazing! Their testimonies are so strong! And many of them have admitted that they want to serve missions! The Lord is preparing them now!! Paula (Recent Convert, 13, baptized a month 1/2 ago) said she wants to serve a mission!!! She told us she wants to come with us from 11am-8pm this next Saturday and teach people all day with us!! What a huge tender mercy for me to see her progress in the church. When I first met her she knew nothing about the church and was very hesitant about baptism... and now she wants to serve her own mission!!! It has been SO rewarding for me!
I love this work. It is so rewarding. The tender mercies, miracles and all the amazing experiences cancel out all the hard and rough times.

So I wanted to start doing a scripture of the week! The one for this week is the one I put on my mission plaque! D&C 4:3 "Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work." I love this! I know every single one of you wants to serve God. He is our Father in Heaven and he has given us so much. Now I know what y'all are thinking, and yes this applies to ALL of you. You do not have to be wearing a name tag to serve God! Look for the little ways to serve all those around you. Because when we are serving our brothers and sisters, we are serving our Father in Heaven! And how can we serve those around us? Well I know that if you ask the man upstairs how each of you can individually serve others, He WILL answer you. It's a promise.

Well I love all of you so so much! and i miss you! All is well here in Mexico (: Les amo!

Your Brookie Cookie
P.S. Its raining like crazy here!! it downpours! and the second pic is a Tomale! So stinking good. oh and our mission president changed the rule of being in the house from 9pm to 8pm at night! So were even more safe (: ADIOS!
